1000 meters | 350 rowers | 140 races | 15 Clubs | 1 Unique Atmosphere
Everyone is invited to watch the annual Portadown Boat Club Regatta, which takes place all day on Saturday 4th May and enjoy the atmosphere on the River Bann.
This year Portadown Boat Club is very excited to have partnered with the new Portadown branch of CIP Insurance Brokers who have generously sponsored the event and the Portadown rowers.
CIP Insurance Brokers are about providing the best possible customer service and forging relationships that last. Good old-fashioned customer service. Things like listening, refusing to take no for an answer when batting on your behalf. A point of contact, an actual person you can talk to face to face, over the phone, or by email.
The company has grown since 1977, with offices in Portadown, Crumlin, Ballyclare and two in Belfast.
15 clubs are expected to attend the Regatta, from as far afield as Dublin to Derry, Belfast to Enniskillen, in what is seen as one of the major regattas in Rowing Irelands calendar.
Everyone is welcome to watch and enjoy the Regatta
As well as Junior racing (12- 18 years old) there are also Novice, Club and Masters (27 +) categories. The oldest racing category is for competitors aged 65 plus!
Portadown Boat Club will be running continuous races during the course of the day with competition starting early in the morning. The public are welcome to come along and watch the races along the tow path. All visitors and spectators are ensured a warm welcome and food and refreshments will be available at the Club house throughout the day.
